  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Mix in molasses and egg until well combined.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are firm.
  • Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
